JSTAR is a peer reviewed and refereed publication offering practical therapy ideas and original research on the nature and advocacy of stuttering and stuttering-related issues. As such, it is strongly encouraged that authors prepare manuscripts according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association with one notable exception - person-first language is not a requirement of JSTAR.

Submissions to JSTAR may include letters to the editor and other short communications, review articles, stuttering-related personal and clinical experiences, original research, and other clinically related articles pertaining to stuttering and other fluency disorders.

All submissions should be sent to submissions@journalofstuttering.com. In the subject line, please write “JSTAR submission”.
